Sprint Retrospective
A Scrum ceremony held after the sprint review and before the next sprint planning session. The team reflects on how they worked together — processes, tools, communication, and collaboration — and identifies one or two concrete improvements to implement in the next sprint. Unlike the sprint review (focused on the product), the retrospective focuses on the team. Common formats include Start-Stop-Continue, the 4Ls (Liked, Learned, Lacked, Longed For), and sailboat retrospectives. Psychological safety is essential: team members must feel comfortable raising problems without fear of blame. A well-run retrospective drives continuous improvement.
