Sprint Planning
The Scrum ceremony that kicks off every sprint. The product owner presents the highest-priority items from the product backlog, and the team selects the stories they commit to completing during the upcoming sprint. The team then breaks those stories into tasks and estimates effort — often using planning poker. A good sprint planning session answers two questions: what will the team deliver, and how will it be done? The output is a sprint backlog and a sprint goal — a concise statement of the value the sprint will deliver. Sprint planning should take no more than two hours per week of sprint length.
