Scrum

A lightweight framework for developing complex products, defined in the Scrum Guide by Ken Schwaber and Jeff Sutherland. Scrum is built on three pillars: transparency (making the work visible), inspection (regularly examining progress), and adaptation (adjusting when deviations are detected). It defines three accountabilities (Scrum master, product owner, developers), five events (sprint, sprint planning, daily scrum, sprint review, sprint retrospective), and three artifacts (product backlog, sprint backlog, increment). Scrum is intentionally incomplete — it defines the container but not the specific engineering practices. Teams fill it with practices suited to their context, such as planning poker for estimation and pair programming for quality.
