Done Done

An informal but important phrase that emphasizes truly complete work — not just 'code is written' but 'code is written, reviewed, tested, merged, deployed, and verified in production.' The distinction matters because teams sometimes count work as done when it has passed development but is waiting for code review, QA, or deployment. Work that is only 'kind of done' cannot be included in the sprint increment and does not count toward velocity. 'Done done' aligns with the Definition of Done and reinforces the Scrum principle that each sprint should produce a potentially shippable increment. Using this phrase helps teams have honest conversations about what truly contributes to delivered value.
